Web and Interactive Design Track

Web design is the process of creating and designing the visual aspect of websites using coding and digital tools. This field emphasizes the importance of aesthetics and user experience to create effective and functional websites. 

Students with a background in web and interactive design often go into careers in web development, UX/UI design, front end development, graphic design and other fields. 

This professional track pairs especially well with a background in Art & Design and Psychology, but may be of interest to students from any liberal arts background. 


Track Requirements

One course each in basic SQL, fundamentals of web design, and UX design:

  • DIDA 110: Database Fundamentals
  • DIDA 265: Web Design
  • DIDA 380C: UX Research and Design

One additional course:

  • DIDA 120: Interactive Fiction
  • DIDA 260: Data Visualization
  • DIDA 280X: Deep Fakes: Reality, Deception
  • HARP 151: Programming in Action
  • Art & Design Students can take ARTS 410: Graphic Design 3
  • Psychology Students can take PSYC 344: Research Methods
